Dear Mr. Robert Fisher,
When I was living in Chile I saw they using crabs like bait. The crab was a
litlle chrashed and then fixed on a kind of plate. When the gastropod
(Concholepas concholepas, it looks like an abalone) climbed on the plate,
the fisherman pull it. I had one or two paper with ilustration, if you want
it please write me.
I hope that I had helped you.
Sincerely

I am looking for information on baits used in trap fisheries targeting
gastropods. I am familiar with the whelk pot fishery on the US East Coast,
but am searching for baits used in other such fisheries. Any assistance
would be appreciated. Thank you. Bob
