Peter,
There is section on clupeotoxic fishes in volume 2 of Halstead's "Poisonous
and Venomous Marine Animals of the World." But, even that contains little
discussion of the actual poison. The article you located is the only that I
can locate that focuses on clupeotoxin.

Dear Listers
I am looking for information on clupeotoxin. It is listed in the FDA Fish
and Fishery Products Hazards and Controls Guide, and in other general
publications on hazards of seafoods, but with little accompanying
information. I have come across only one paper with and account: Champetier
De Ribes et al, Intoxications par animaux marins vénéneux à Madagascar,
Bulletin de la Société de Pathologie Exotique, 1997, 90.
Can anyone give a lead to literature on the subject?
