Sorry, this one is a little outside of seafood but perhaps someone may have a link.
A colleague of mine wishes to grow carp in a lake. He has heard that they only grow for the first 10 years of their lives and now wonders if he is better purchasing one year olds, rather than 5 year olds that may not have achieved maximum growth potential.
Does anyone know where information on carp growth rates may be found?
Thanks to all.
By the way his plan is not for food fish, he is an angler. He intends to harvest them one afternoon from a local pond and having accumulated several hundred in a seine net he is to release them into a 3 acre lake; he will then sit for days trying to recapture them with a hook about half an inch long. Anglers eh!
