Subject: Australian Seafood HACCP course
Pamela, I can't seem to get the message to the group- can you pass it on ?
Thanks
Clare
Dear listservers,
I would just like to let everyone know about a new course
developed in Australia on behalf of AQIS- Aust Quarantine Inspection
Service. It is called " Food Safety Requirements for the Australian Export
Seafood Industry." It is not called a HACCP course because we don't cover
all aspects of HACCP just:
seafood hazard identification
risk analysis- inc a prac in an export processing plant
Critical control points
Critical limits
monitoring
verification and validation
The course has been designed for the AQIS seafood inspectors, but AQIS are
letting a limited number of industry people on the course. AQIS at this
stage are organising who comes on what courses. The course are being
delivered in Brisbane at The Centre for Food Technology. The pre- requistes
for the course are:
* Successfully completed grade 10 (or equivalent) science (biology &
chemistry).
* Currently working in the export seafood industry
* Successfully completed a HACCP course
The dates for the next course are : June 21/22/23, August 2/3/4. It is
expected that there will be more dates pending demand.
This course is designed to meet the Australian FPA requirements not the US
requirements, but it is pretty tough to pass and it will give anyone a very
good grounding in the tricker aspects of HACCP implementation & auditing.
Contact myself if you are at all interested.
