virus alert

    The following warning came around on another list (unrelated to ours, but
    including some in at least one federal govt. agency):

    "If you receive a message in your mailbox with the Subject of ILOVEYOU
    PLEASE DELETE IT IMMEDIATELY. Then go to your TRASH folder and IMMEDIATELY
    delete it from there too. This email message contains a VIRUS. "

    from another correspondent:
    "It hit my firm today. Once the file is opened, it attacks your e-mail
    distribution list and sends the virus to everyone on your list. Has caused
    us some REAL serious problems here."

    Be on the lookout. Seems to be one of a new class of viruses that does not
    require you to open an attachment, only the original mail file.
