    Pamela,
The publications at the NMFS Inspection site which would detail
determining net weight of frozen blocks of shrimp are those covering the
Grade Standards. We are accustomed to seeing 5 or 10 pound blocks or varing
weights in Kilograms. Some blocks are water glazed, others are not. The
    majority have a water glaze.
Net weights determined by these methods from block frozen are generally
referred to as "Drained Weight" whereas Net Weights determined upon
IQF/Glazed Shrimp are generally referred to as "Net Weight".
Unless I misunderstood the orginal question regarding the net weight
determination, I believe that the methods found in my reference are A.O.A.C.
compliant. I would know of no other methodology.
