    Dear all,

Read what I and many of us do in order to prevent our product getting
contaminated (which is likely to occur).

I installed a "specifically designed step to eliminate or reduce the
likely occurrence of a hazard to an acceptable level". Note that this
is Q2 of the Codex Alimentarius HACCP guidelines for establishing a
    Critical Control Point).
And .... it turns out to be effective.

Here are my personal experiences with computer viruses.
I had 3 virus incidents (sent to me in attachments) during the last 6
    months, and NEVER BEFORE!

Twice it was an EXEcutable file and once a MACRO virus in a MSWord
    document file.

    The sources/senders were:
1 x mailed directly to me, unknown sender
1 x mailed directly to me, a forwarded document by a business
relation but he (sure) wasn't aware of it.
1 x mailed to me via a mailinglist

Especially the known senders like the 2nd one are the dangerous ones.

All 3 (different viruses) were detected when I copied the attachments
to a temporary directory and killed by my virus scanner/virus shield
program of which I update the data-file monthly (the supplier alerts
me that it is time for preventive maintenance. Real good service!).

    Thus:
    a) install the preventive measure
    b) keep your eyes open
    c) keep the preventive measure updated

    Regards,

    Jan Verhoeven
