    Dear Work Group members,

I received the same email as Anil. Here are some suggestions to get the
ball rolling. We would be happy to organize a day with him here at Davis,
allowing him to visit interested faculty, the LTRAS/SAFS project and the
    Student Farm.

He would probably enjoy a visit to UCSC and the agroecology project there.

There are several organizations representing or working with organic
farmers in California like the Organic Farming Research Foundation, CAFFs
and others that may be willing to help organize a tour. Perhaps SAREP can
help or be the organizing entity?

I suggest that an important part of a tour would be visits with some large
scale growers as well as market gardeners and specialty producers. For
example, I know that the Driscoll Company grows a lot of organic
strawberries along the Central Coast, and there are some large-scale
lettuce and other produce companies both on the coast and in the San
    Joaquin Valley.
