Our lab needs Spanish-speaking interns! The lab of Dr. Kay Dewey, in the
Department of Nutrition, is currently running a research project with
participants of the WIC (Women, Infants, and Children Supplemental
Nutrition Program) program in Sacramento County. We are enrolling 250
infant/mother pairs, and estimate ~1/3rd to 1/2 will be Spanish-speaking
only. We have some bilingual staff on site at the clinics, but need
students who can make phone calls to Spanish-speaking moms from our lab in
Meyer Hall. Our study will be ongoing through June and we are looking for
about 3 students to commit to 2 credit hours (6 hours/week) for winter and
spring quarter.
For your participation as an intern, you can expect to:
Work with Faculty in the Nutrition Department
Get research experience
Learn about nutrition of young infants
And get letters of recommendation for future use.
If you are interested, please email Katie Prochaska at
kprochaska@ucdavis.edu as soon as possible. She will send you further
information, along with an application.
Thank you,
Katie Prochaska
