Internship-California Department of Education, Nutrition
Paid $9.70/hour
minimum of 10 hours/week, flexible schedule to be arranged with supervisor.
Description: Under the direction of the Administrator for the Healthy
Nutrition Environment Team, the student will assist Nutrition Education
Consultants with a variety of projects that target classroom educators,
administrators and child nutrition personnel. Specific duties include the
following:
Research and summarize nutrition issues, child nutrition policies, laws,
regulations, and other data from various sources for the development of
position papers, nutrition standards and guidelines, contracts, and reports.
Assist with coordination of grant programs through such activities as
screening applications, organizing and summarizing data, communicating
(oral and written) with grantees, and drafting educational resource documents.
Assist with the coordination of professional development workshops by
communicating with field and staff (oral and written), and preparing
presentation visuals and materials.
Edit and assist with the production of nutrition curriculum for child
nutrition personnel and/or classroom teachers.
Other duties as necessary.
Qualifications: Jr or Sr, Community Nutrition/Dietetics major. Able to
work independently.
