Summer Food Service Internship at Camp Ronald McDonald
Paid Experience, plus meals & housing for 3 months in the California Sierra
Nevada Mountains!!!
Dates: May 31-August 24, 2002 *(note that the starting date may be
negotiable
due to the UC spring quarter schedule)
Stipend: $900/month + meals & housing provided
Where: Eagle Lake in the Lassen National Forest
What: Camp Ronald McDonald is a residential camp for kids with special needs
("at-risk", disadvantaged and or living with physical or emotional
disabilities)
Experiences: gain experience in quantity food service in a unique camp
setting;
meet special dietary needs as well as plan & provide fun & nutritious camp
foods; touch the lives of special children through nutrition and the complete
camp experience.
Desirable background of applicants: upper division nutrition/community
nutrition/clinical nutrition students; some experience with camping and some
type of institutional food service, knowledge of menu planning, food safety
and
food preparation.
