REGIONAL MANAGER
Nutrition and Physical Activity Policy Briefs

The California Center for Public Health Advocacy seeks a full-time Regional Manager to help develop and distribute an innovative series of Policy Briefs to educate legislators and community leaders about the importance of promoting nutrition and physical activity. 

The Regional Manager will oversee statewide distribution of the Policy Briefs, organize regional educational forums about their content, provide technical support to community organizations interested in using regional data to support local advocacy efforts, and arrange personal visits with policy makers.  The project is funded by The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation as a potential national model.
Qualified candidates will have
·       a BA degree or higher in public health, social welfare, or a related field
·       a working knowledge of state and local politics
·       a desire to promote nutrition and physical activity for children /adolescents,
·       a willingness to work varied hours and travel throughout the State

Candidates should also have the ability to
·       organize and conduct training programs for grassroots organizations
·       translate data into usable community advocacy information
·       work independently and with groups

The California Center for Public Health Advocacy is a nonpartisan nonprofit organization established jointly by the Northern and Southern California Public Health Associations.  The purpose of the Center is to raise awareness about public health issues and mobilize communities to support effective health policy.
