    Wednesday, May 22, 2002, 9:00 - 11:30 a.m.

Featuring Howard Besser, Associate Professor at UCLA's School of Education
and Information Studies, speaking on "The Case for an Information Commons:
Responses to the Current Copyright Environment."

as custodians of our information heritage.

Howard Besser is an expert on image and multimedia databases, the social
and cultural effects of information technology, digital library issues
(particularly around standards, longevity, and intellectual property), and

    instruction and distance learning.

Street (near Grant), San Francisco. Parking is available at the Stockton
