Position: HEAD, PUBLIC HEALTH LIBRARY; Associate Librarian/Librarian;$60,132
- $82,416 per annum, based upon qualifications;Administrative Stipend: $300
per month in addition to salary
Duties: Manages the Public Health Library staff, providing overall
direction, and acts as primary liaison to faculty in the School of Public
Health and researchers at the California Department of Health Services.
Responsible for the departmental library budget as well as negotiating and
renewing contracts with state agencies; coordinates the provision of
contract services, including document delivery, computer literature
searching, and current awareness services. The Head also coordinates
collections and services provided by the Public Health Library, including
reference, instruction, circulation, collection development, outreach, and

Qualifications: Required: An MLIS from an ALA accredited institution, or
equivalent degree, and relevant professional experience. At least five years
progressively responsible research library experience. Significant
management experience and demonstrated ability to lead and manage in a
collegial manner; Experience in science librarianship.
Preferred: Experience in collection development, contract management,
planning and project management, budget management, and facilities planning.
Experience in health or life sciences librarianship and knowledge of
appropriate information resources.
