[Excerpted from this morning's email from Richard Wagner's great-
grandson, also Franz Liszt's great-great-grandson - the estranged
son of Wolfgang Wagner, and, along with his late Aunt Friedelind,
one of only two members of the Wagner clan ever to take a
political stance slightly to the left of center: Gottfried enjoys
*vastly* more popularity in Israel (where he's taught at more than
one university) than he does in Bayreuth, where Wolfgang long
since banned him from his home. Gottfried speaks excellent
English, so watch your local papers for details, and by all means
introduce yourself to him.]
