    COMPOSER FELLOWSHIP IN THE NORTH EAST OF ENGLAND

    The University of Newcastle, the Arts Council of England (Northern Arts) and
    Jazzaction invite applications for this three-year post. We are particularly
    keen to recruit a musician working in JAZZ or a jazz-related area - but
    others are also welcome to apply. In the event of a jazz appointment,
    Jazzaction have also agreed to support the post.

    The Fellow will be based in Newcastle, at the highly regarded University
    Music department. He/she will be encouraged to offer some teaching in the
    department, but will be mainly occupied in composing, performing and
    furthering the production and dissemination of new music in the University
    and more widely in the North East of England.

    The post is available from 1 September 2003, at a salary up to c. £25k.
