CONFERENCE ANNOUNCEMENT:
LITERATURE AND MUSIC IN THE STUDY OF CULTURE
OXFORD, 11 MAY 2002
The Musics and Cultures Research Group of the Open University is hosting a
Day Conference on the above theme to be held at Worcester College, Oxford,
on Saturday 11 May 2002.
An international panel of speakers will present papers on the themes,
"Case Studies", "Cultural Politics", and "Theoretical Perspectives". All
scholars and students interested in this developing area of humanities
research are very welcome to attend. The registration fee for the day is
twenty pounds sterling, or thirty-two Euros for the waged, and ten pounds
sterling, sixteen Euros for the unwaged; this includes refreshments and a
buffet lunch. Pre-booking is necessary, so that the number of
participants is known.
The organisers of the conference are Robert Samuels and Delia da Sousa
Correa of the Open University, and Alexandra Wilson of Worcester College.
