Or at least this was how he was known by some of his female admirers
when I was an undergraduate at the University of Edinburgh in the
late 60s.
He really was a wonderful jazz pianist; among other things he was
able to conjure up the sound of Erroll Garner's wizardry better than
anyone I've ever heard (no small feat, given Garner's style).
How sad.
