    CONFERENCE ANNOUNCEMENT:
    MUSIC AND LITERATURE IN THE 19TH AND 20TH CENTURIES
    LONDON, 5 MAY 2001

    The Musics and Cultures Research Group of the Open University is hosting a
    Day Conference on the above theme to be held at the Open University
    Conference Centre, 344-354 Gray's Inn Road, London, on Saturday 5 May
    2001.

    An international panel of speakers will present papers on the themes,
    "Influences and Modellings", "Gender and the Nineteenth Century", and
    "Aesthetic and Generic Issues". All scholars and students interested in
    this developing area of humanities research are very welcome to attend.
    The registration fee for the day is ten pounds sterling, or sixteen Euros,
    which includes refreshments and a buffet lunch. Pre-booking is necessary,
    so that the number of participants is known.

    The organisers of the conference are Robert Samuels and Delia da Sousa
    Correa. Further information, including the full programme and a booking
