    "The Modern Musicologist" was published in _College Music Symposium_ in
    the late 1970s or early 80s (I don't have access to my files now); there
    was also another very clever G&S parody in the same year, by the same
    author. I sang them both in a joint faculty recital one year. If you can
    find Symposium, you'll find the author named; I'm sorry I can't remember
    who it was.
