Dear LLSDC Members, and other interested parties,
This Saturday, December 4th, from 5:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M., we, LLSDC, have
promised to provide 15 volunteers to help work the phone banks during a
pledge drive at WETA.
For those of you who have never done this, it is a lot of fun. I know, you
don't believe me, but I did it for the first time last summer and it was
great. Maybe it's the ham in me, but I liked that my 2 year old daughter
could see me on TV answering the phones and saying "Daddy on TV?" Maybe
it's the fact that those who know me know I like to talk on the phone.
Whatever. It was a great time, and I don't even like "Irish Tenor" music
(Frank Patterson was the in studio guest).
For those of you that don't like being on TV, there are plenty of places to
sit where you won't be seen. But once again, it was fun, the free food and
drink were above average, and the camaraderie of the fellow LLSDC folks that
attended was terrific.
Please volunteer for this event!!!
* The in studio guest will be Marcia Wieder, a motivational speaker,
speaking on " Making Your Dreams Come True".
* The second part will be a doo whop show, featuring the band Doo Whop
50.
* I guarantee it will be far superior to ANY trip to the mall!
