Just a heads up for this Monday morning regarding a shipment we received
today from West. We ordered 3 copies of Lafave's Criminal procedure (2nd
ed.) back in 1993 when they first told us it was coming out. Over the past 6
years, as we would periodically inquire about it, we've received and
returned multiple copies of the 1st ed. that were shipped instead.
Today the 2nd ed. arrived, but instead of the 3 copies we expected, we got
11 copies. When we called and talked to Customer Service about it, we were
told that at least one other library had reported receiving 30 copies
instead of the 4 that had been ordered, so we know we're not alone. There
didn't seem to be any major concern about the discrepency in the number of
copies received, but there also weren't any problems verifying that our
standing order for supps is for the correct number, and that we could return
the unwanted 8 copies.
So if you have this title on order, keep your eyes open in case you get
extras. I hope it's a wonderful text, it's certainly caused us enough
problems.
