Good morning! We currently do not have a name for our intranet; it's simply
known as the "Gordon Feinblatt Intranet." This has worked moderately well
insofar as it accustoms people to new technology terms, etc. However, it
causes some confusion among non-techies with the term "internet" (as you
might well imagine). Since the Library has created the entire intranet
here, I also believe it makes sense to have a catchier term that would
associate the intranet with the Library (better marketing for the
Library...). Lastly, as we move towards the creation of an extranet, an
overarching term for the whole system would allow us to integrate intranet
and extranet features more seamlessly. So, with that background, my
question is this:
What are some of the names that other law firms (or other institutions) have
chosen for their intranets and/or extranets?
I'd be happy to summarize answers for the list. Thanks in advance!
