Boston (MA) Reference Librarian

TITLE: REFERENCE LIBRARIAN

 DESCRIPTION: Large Boston law firm is seeking a Reference Librarian
with advanced research abilities and strong technical skills to provide
quality reference and research services to their attorneys, paralegals
and professional staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES include: Conduct searches in both print and online
legal and non-legal resources including Westlaw, Lexis/Nexis, Dialog and
the Internet; supervise all aspects of the library's electronic
resources, including training and vendor contact; investigate, evaluate
and implement new technologies as well as develop training materials and
programs to promote their use; develop and maintain library's intranet
site; assist with internal marketing of library services; participate in
interlibrary loan, collection development and other administrative
duties.

 REQUIREMENTS: ALA- MLS and 2+ years related reference experience.
Significant experience with online databases, CD-ROM technology and the
Internet. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Proficient computer
skills. Knowledge of HTML helpful. Practical knowledge of online
cataloguing and interlibrary loan procedures preferred. Supervisory
experience desirable.

The successful candidate must possess excellent oral and written
communication skills and the ability to work well both independently and
as a team member in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to execute
complex projects with accuracy and attention to detail at a high
productivity level. Strong service orientation and organizational skills
are essential.
