Satellite libraries and elimination of materials - Your experiences, please

I would appreciate hearing from anyone in a law firm who has taken a centralized library and dispersed it to satellite libraries. What were the pros and cons? How much of an increase in missing materials have you seen, if any? Do you spend much more time locating items? Do the attorneys view the loss of control as a necessary evil to the convenience of having their materials nearby?

I would also like to hear from anyone who has eliminated regional reporters, or early volumes of federal reporters, and what the pros and cons were in that decision Did you buy CD to replace them, or turn to online services? Did your online usage increase a small or large amount? What were the biggest complaints by users?

Thanks. I will summarize for the list if there is interest.
