The Academic Law Libraries Special Interest Section of AALL
is pleased to announce the FREDERICK CHARLES HICKS
AWARD, which has been created to recognize outstanding
contributions to academic law librarianship. This new award is
named in honor of the first great American law librarian/scholar
(who was also the first academic law librarian to serve as AALL
president).

Complete details about the award can be found on the ALL/SIS
website: www/aallnet.org/sis/allsis/awards.html

The proposal for this award was written by the ALL/SIS Awards
Committee and approved by the ALL/SIS Executive Board. Preference
in judging will be given to nominees who are members of the
ALL/SIS. Presentation of the first award will take place
at the Academic Reception during the AALL annual meeting in
Philadelphia next July.
