Hi, Law-libbers. I would love it if you could weigh in with your
opinions/experience. I would have happy to summarize for the list, if
others indicate an interest.

Our agency, the FDIC, maintains seven libraries around the country
(not including our Washington, DC libraries). These field libraries serve a
variety of staff, including groups of attorneys. The number of attorneys
served range from 10 in one office to 150 in our largest field office. We
are investigating the possibility of eliminating the hard-copy Federal
reporter system--Fed Supp and Fed Reporter-- in these offices and relying
totally on Westlaw. We will retain hard copy of these sets in Washington.
We are not planning to go with a CD Rom replacement for the sets for a
variety of reasons.

I would appreciate it very much if anyone who has gone down this
path already share any of their experiences--pro, con, what ever. It would
be very helpful if you could tell me how many attorneys/legal staff were
affected. We are trying to think through and anticipate any and all
problems with this kind of change.

Please respond to me directly: dclarkin@fdic.gov

Thanks!
