The Denver Post reported that the National Council of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws passed the Uniform Computer Information Transactions Act (UCITA) 43-6 with two abstentions and two states not voting. You might remember that UCITA was originally proposed to become Article 2B of the UCC.
UCITA would have sweeping inpacts on libraries--licensing is the big issue.
Now is the time to start working with your State Library Association on how to react should this be proposed for adoption in your state.
