Dear colleagues
You may have heard about the fire that destroyed the Library of the
University of Lyon. 350 000 out of 450 000 volumes are estimated to
have been destroyed. The periodical collections are especially gone
back to ashes. No need to say the next years will be difficult for the
students here.
A committee has been formed to organize the solidarity being shown up
by libraries or publishers all over Europe. Those of you who work with
publishers, for journals or who may hear about books waiting for a
place to be read might be interested in giving us a hand.

Lyon, by fax at 33 4 72 43 26 40, or by e-mail at pul@univ-lyon1.fr,
with "bibliotheque" in the subject line.
