My big problem is that I'm so busy with Association duties
and programs that I rarely have the time for the tours.
I just try to make do with the spare (ha-ha) time I do have
and/or add an extra day or two at the end to do sightseeing.

Hi all,
I'm just wondering why these sightseeing tours aren't filling up. Last year
in LA I signed up for two tours and they were both canceled. I was
extremely disappointed. I cannot afford to rent a car on these trips so I
rely on these tours to do my sightseeing and each year seems like fewer and
fewer of the tours actually "go." Is it just procrastination or is it cost?
Or maybe it's another factor I haven't considered.
If you're on the fence about using the tours, please opt for signing up.
I've only scheduled one tour this year (Our Colonial Past) and I really hope
it fills up.

Help! We need more registrations for the sightseeing excursion tours
planned for the AALL Annual Meeting (page 39 in the Preliminary Program) or
they will be canceled.
The tour company, Capitol Services, is holding firm to the July 1
reservation deadline; they are unwilling to commit to hiring buses and
guides if the forty person tour minimum is not met.
Don't think you can wait to select an excursion when you arrive in DC;
send your registration in to Capitol Services now!! (The alternative is the
tours won't go.) Monuments by Moonlight, Virginia Hunt Country, Ghost Tour
of Washington, and Our Colonial Past are the closest to meeting the
minimums.)
Pam Gregory, co-chair of the "free" Library Tours asked me to pass
along the info that the Thursday tours are filled, but that they still have
some slots available on Tuesday and Wednesday. (You can contact Pam at
pgregory@clark.net).
