Reminds me of the wonderful scene in the late Stanley Kubrick's film
"Inherit The Wind", (about he Scopes monkey-trial in the 1920s), where the
trial judge makes defence counsel (Spencer Tracey/Clarence Darrow) a
"Temporary Honorary Colonel In The State Militia", to even things up
between counsel, (somesuch "honour" having been bestowed upon the
prosecutor by the governor the previous day).
