Re[2]: Controversy at the Library of Congress

The comment about those orange covers on the biography series for children from
the 1950's really brings back memories. I read every one I could get my hands
on at the time, and I certainly do remember the color of frequently used titles.

Just think about what happens when a published decides to "update" the look of
an old familiar reference tool and changes the color, size, arrangement of
volumes, etc. I can think of at least three color schemes for Gale's
Encyclopedia of Associations. The confusion that can infect both librarians,
library staff, and users is frustrating at best, until everyone is used to the
new look of the publication.

Also, shelving by size and color has actually been done before, by some less
than professional librarians. A friend of mine from high school took her first
professional position in a grade school library, and on the first day she
discovered that the card catalog was not very useful, because the former library
staff person -- not a professional -- thought that the library looked much
better with all the books arranged by size and color. It took her two weeks,
with several older students helping her, to get the books arranged in Dewey
order, so they could be used. Fortunately, that school district had all books
preprocessed by their jobber, so the spine labels were complete with Dewey
numbers.

I am trying to track down the full text of an American Medical Association document, Res. 513, I-98. (I believe that Res. stands for Resolution.) I have found this document referenced on the AMA's website, and it is related to AMA Policy H-150.954, relating to Reporting Adverse Effects of Drugs, Vitamins, and Herbs.

I have left multiple messages with the AMA Library to try to get this document from them, or to learn where the Res. documents are published. Unfortunately, I haven't heard back from the AMA, and my attorney is getting anxious. Does anyone have any idea where I can find this document?

All reasonable fees will be paid...

Thanks in advance for your help!
