There was a brief discussion of Citrix on this list a while ago. I meant
to send the message below, but never did. Has anyone heard more about
Citrix? Their web site is still there and looks good. As far as I can
tell it's a very good product.

>I just saw a demo of Citrix today. I certainly hope Microsoft hasn't
"deep sixed" it. It was slick.

>I downloaded the software (I assume my university has a site license
since our tech guy said to download it) and have used it to access CDs on a
server in another library. Each PC must have the software on it
individually. Each PC must also have a unique "name". It doesn't work
with Netscape, only with Internet Explorer, according to our tech guy.
(Surprise, surprise!)

>Their web site (www.citrix.com) certainly doesn't make it sound "deep
sixed". I sent our main library the message about it being canned and
asked if he'd heard this. They are planning to bring it up for the entire
campus in the Fall, so I don't think he'd heard of its possible demise.
