[Cross-posted--please excuse duplication]
*Sincere* thank you's to Mary Ann Archer, Carol A. Barra, Nanna K. Frye,
Melanie Putnam, Ceceile Kay Richter, John K. Johnson, David Rogers,
and Suzanne Young!
We appear to have 16mm microfilm, less common than 32mm. Almost any
microfilm reader should be able to handle this. Width doesn't matter so
long as the take-up reel is the same size or larger. Many large readers
have a switch to adjust the take-up reel for film width.
A machine with assorted or variable lenses will be crucial, for we don't
know the reduction. The local Eastman Kodak representative should be
able to identify the film type and probably the reduction. Or call Kodak
headquarters in Rochester, NY. 1-800-568-4285 and ask for customer
service for microfilm products. Kodak also has a web site:
http://www.kodak.com
Another suggestion named Minolta, or check the local yellow pages under
"Microfilming Service and Supplies".
We don't have microfilm equipment; several people suggested taking it to
the courthouse, recorder's office, local public library or academic library,
though the printout quality probably will be poor. Since microfilm transferral
service is expensive, I also got a suggestion to consider renting a machine
and using temporary help on site.
The depth, breadth, and SPEED of replies never cease to amaze me.
Thank you all !
