Following is a summarization of my question to you Librarians as to
how this
is done at other libraries..........
1. In-house messengers go to outside libraries and retrieve and copy
or just
retrieve needed materials. - 3
2. Use the Outside Library's Copy and Retrieval Service - 7
3. In-House Library Staff member goes to outside Library for copy
or retrieval - 2
4. First check Westlaw/Lexis for available - 2
5. In-house messenger assigned to Law Library only for these types
of requests and also does shelving/filing. - 1
6. Place requests through in-house library staff and they, in turn,
request
through outside library copy/retrieval service - 3
A few commented that it is less expensive to use the outside libraries
copy/
retrieval service than a paralegal going over considering traffic,
parking costs, mileage and the billing of their time on top of the
copy costs.
