Fellow Law-Libbers--
Can anyone give me any tips on researching copyright records? I did
so a search on the Library of Congress LOCIS automated system and
found some registration records 1978-present. Are there other places
to get post 1978 information? Are registration records the only
records that are available?
And my main question--where can I research records prior to 1978? I
tried calling the copyright office but they would only do a search if
I knew title, author, & date. Unfortunately, I don't know that
information. I only have the title--I'm looking for the earliest
occurrence. I called Saegis about a search, but they seemed a little
pricey. Any ideas?
