Here is a summary of the feedback that I received when I asked our law-lib
group for their comments and recommendations on the shelving..

The biggest agreement area was on preferring manual systems over the
electronic ones. The maintenance was more easily done and fewer break-downs
were experienced. Service contracts were recommended.

Spacesaver shelving was the brand most commented on and it received high
performance comments on the manual units. The main comment about electronic
shelving was that, in the past, it had not worked well, but that the
companies who offer it, have made good improvements in its performance
capabilities.

As for the manual shelving a lot of the positive comments were from people
who had used it at least 5 to 10 years. Installation was pointed out by
Helen Demack as being a key ingredient in have a successful usage of the
shelving units.

My thanks to all who were kind enough to respond. I am taking all the
comments to heart and have passed them on to the people who will be making
our shelving purchase decision. I will let you all know what shelving we go
with and also, how it performs in the coming months after we install it.

Have a Wonderful Week !
