Workshop #1, Meet the Legal Specialists: Expert Advice on Research and
Acquisitions of Foreign Law in the Vernacular is sure to be an
extraordinary event in any language! Taking place on Friday, July 16th,
this four part workshop will provide a unique opportunity for
participants to receive expert guidance and advice on foreign law
research and acquisitions from THE Foreign Legal Research Specialists at
THE Law Library of Congress.

Workshop #2, Law Librarians Meet the 106th Congress: AALL Legislative
Day is an advocacy workshop that will "capitalize" on the Annual
Meeting's location. At this Friday workshop, participants will be given
updates on the key legislative issues facing libraries, receive
instruction on the how-tos of legislative advocacy, and will make actual
lobbying visits on the Hill. AALL members Mary Alice Baish and Shirley
David and a host of knowledgeable speakers including Congressional Staff
members and lobbyists, will simplify and guide participants through the
often mystifying lobbying process.

The Saturday Workshop #3, All Systems are Not Created Equal: How to
Navigate the World of Integrated Online Library Systems (IOLS's) is
designed for small and medium sized law libraries that face the
challenges of searching for and selecting an integrated online library
system. Library systems experts Mary Dzurinko and Nina Platt will cover
the integrated systems currently on the market, methods of IOLS review,
evaluation and selection, cost-benefit analysis of integrated systems,
bench marking, RFI's and RFP's, project time lines, staff resources, and
training.
