AALL VIDEO CONFERENCE: A GREAT CONTINUING EDUCATION OPPORTUNITY!

Quality Customer Service: Beyond "How May I Help You?" Thursday, April 15, 1999

Finding affordable continuing education opportunities for all law
library personnel is difficult. But in smaller urban areas like South Bend,
Indiana, it is almost impossible. That is why the Kresge Library, Notre
Dame Law School will be a site for the AALL Video Conference in April. How
else can we provide 90 minutes of quality programming for 25 professional
and paraprofessional staff at such low cost? No airplane tickets, no time
away for travel, no hotel costs. The only costs will be the registration
fee, a fee to our continuing education center for using its facility and
duplicating costs.

                  Registration fee $275
                  Room & Technician 400
                  Duplicating program handouts 25

COST PER PERSON FOR 25 STAFF: $28

In addition to our own staff, we will be inviting colleagues from
our main library and other libraries in the area. We aren't charging them
an admission fee, although we easily could, but in our case we have decided
to absorb the cost. After all $700 is a lot less than the amount most of us
would have to pay to send one person to a continuing education event in
another city.
So for a relatively small amount of money, our staff engages in some
worthwhile continuing education, we provide that same opportunity to area
libraries and everyone gets a chance to network with colleagues and
friends. The AALL video conference is a bargain not to be missed!
Many campuses, law firms and courthouses are equipped to receive
satellite transmissions. If your work place is not, I'm sure there is a
facility close by.

SATELLITE VIDEO CONFERENCES ARE A VERY COST EFFECTIVE WAY TO DELIVER
CONTINUING EDUCATION TO EVERYONE IN YOUR LIBRARY.

Support continuing education and support AALL's professional development
effort.
And thanks to West Publishing Group for their support of the AALL Video
Conferences.
