Many thanks to everyone who suggested an approach to locating information
about a corporate executive. In response to a number of requests, I'm
summarizing the suggestions for the list.

Fee-based databases:
Lexis PEOPLE:EXECHG or Secretary of State Records at CORP:ALLSOS or
State:ALLSOS
Westlaw SLEUTH
Information America (name search)
CDB Infotek - Discovery Search
Dun & Bradstreet (not sure about search strategy - someone seems to recall
this was possible)

Free internet resources:

But where I actually found much of my information was, in retrospect rather
obviously, in the archives of the local business journal on the internet. I
found that many business journals make their archives (from 95 or so on)
available to search on the internet for free, and it's a good place to start
when linking a particular individual to the companies with which he/she
might have been involved. Found nothing in Lexis or Westlaw on my exec, but
did find him in several business journals, which was a jumping-off point for
research into the financials of the companies I now knew he was associated
with. Again, thanks to all who contributed.
