FW: Reply to Jerk

Very well spoken, Paula ! Name calling was supposed to be something that
one leaves behind as one matures. Someone who would use such a term to
describe someone who asked a question certainly has a lot of growing up to
do. I teach brushstroke work and one of my mentors stressed that "there are
no dumb questions when someone is seeking knowledge". I always try to make
sure that I share that philosophy with my students.

I am disgusted that a librarian would respond to Jill Henderson by calling
her a jerk for not knowing about Library Journal. We are all at different
levels of knowledge about the law and librarianship, which is what makes
this listserv so helpful, no matter whether we are PhD's with 25 years law
library experience or are just out of college with no library experience at
all. It was completely unprofessional to flame someone who was simply
asking for our help. By the way, there are ways of tracking the name of
that person, since you have his e-mail address.
