Hello everyone,
I've been using Lexis and W/L to try to track down a case that originated in the California Franchise Tax Board, and later went through the courts (so I've been told).
The name is Schmit (or Schmidt, or other variation of that name) Finance (or Financial). It concerns a limited partner being assessed franchise taxes versus a "member" of a corporation or investment company being assessed these taxes.
If someone knows what I'm talking about, I could really use the help. The case supposedly took place 5 or 6 years ago (although I've been limiting my search to the past 20 years or more).
At this point, I'd be happy with the telephone number of the California Franchise Tax Board. Can anyone help? Thanks!
