Altman Z Score

This question is posted on behalf of a corporate librarian colleague who is
not on the law librarians list. It's also a stumper for me. We have been
trying to find the definition of the "Altman Z Score" which is supposed to
be a bankruptcy term. I have checked the legal dictionaries and various
standard bankruptcy treatises, both single and multi-volume sets. If anyone
knows what this means, would you please point me in the right direction? If
you wouldn't mind faxing the definition, it would be very helpful. Many
thanks! Regards, Martha
