Having just read my own message, I am herewith amending it slightly.
If an ordinarily good service provider is obviously having a bad day for one legitimate reason or another, of course I do not take such a hard line as I previously related.
I reserve *that* treatment for the habitually poor service providers who appear to assume that a mere recitation of their problems is going to assuage me, ad infinitum.
I love giving good service. At work, for example, I never "point the way" to someone looking for something, I get up and take them there. I believe in the golden rule, and it especially bothers me when the advertising of many companies doesn't match their actual service.
I now step down from my soapbox.
