I used to get this type of question all the time in New York. Although I don't have the publications in my library to help you, there is indeed a publication called Ayers. Another good one is Working Press of the Nation. I do have the Gale Directory of Publications and Broadcast Media, and that has publications with their circulation listed.
Finally, don't forget the Web. I often use the following website for research. http://www.naa.org/ is the official website of the Newspaper Association of America. They have links to the websites of their members. I often use this to find newspapers in other cities.
We only have the 1990 edition of he Gale Directory of Publications and Broadcast Media in the library here, so I hope that this information is still accurate. Here is the information for Bowling Green, Kentucky:

Bowling Green, KY 42102-9012
Phone 502-781-1700

Nashville has two papers, both run by Gannett. They both have the same address and telephone number. The information is as follows:
Nashville Baner / The Tennessean
111 Broadway St.
Nashville, TN 37203
Phone 615-259-8333
Fax 615-259-8820
Banner: M-Sat Evening, Circulation 63,078
The Tennessean: Mon-Sat Morning, Circulation 126,762; Sun Morning, Circulation 258,969
I hope that this helps.

I am trying to track down the newspaper with the highest circulation in
Nashville, TN and Bowling Green, KY.
If memory serves me right, there is a publication entitled Ayers...
that lists city newspapers and their circulation.
Thanks for any help.
