Internet Law: The Complete Guide

Dear All,

About a week ago I posted a request on the list for information about the looseleaf service Internet Law: The Complete Guide by Steven Imparl. I didn't get very many responses, but here is a summary what what I have learned.
--------------
We subscribe to two looseleafs that might be up your alley. The broader of the two is Internet and Online Law by Kent D. Stuckey, published by Law Journal Seminars-Press in 1996, updated annually. Among other things, it covers contracting, defamation, obscenity, privacy, intellectual property, and regulatory issues as they relate to the online environment.

The Law of Electronic Commerce 3d by Benjamin Wright, as its title indicates, deals specifically with issues such as security, authentication, fraud, electronic contracts, and privacy as they relate to doing business online. It was published this year, and while there have been no paper updates, there is a website at http://www.mmb-ias.com/ecom/ maintained by the authors as a current awareness service. Very cool.
--------------
Our main computer law attorney apparently just thumbed through it
and is asking us to return it.
--------------
I have been hesitant to order from these people. The salesman is obnoxious and will not send any brochures or give me any phone numbers. Doesn't help their reputation. Let me know what you find out. This is the 3rd time I've seen a request for information regarding this publication come through law-lib. Looks like no one has ordered from them.
-------------
Hi, Bryan,
I asked the same question about a week ago and only got one to two replies. I haven't gotten around yet to post to the list. There was no overwhelming endorsement. I was approached by a telemarketer who just got rude when I asked for a brochure rather than a 30 day trial. I was trying to find out more about it or borrow it from someone else rather than give them the satasfaction of me ordering it.
