On November 30, 1998, a law firm in Chicago (Burditt & Radzius) will blink
out of existence. According to Isaac Asimov, when a star disappears from
the universe it goes unnoticed. In my mind law libraries are special and
should not go unnoticed. Every day of our existence we set our goals to
give excellence in service and legal research. Such effort should not
blink away without at least a flare to other Law Librarians. So, ... this
message is to let you know we existed, exist now, but will be no more on
December 1, 1998.
Also this message is to let you know that we have quite a few books
available (you set the price). The firm is splitting into at least 3
parts, the smaller parts do not want the books and the large part
(approximately 10 attorneys) plans to go totally CD-ROM and on-line for
their legal research needs.
