Perhaps the poor phone customer service is their way of driving us to use their Web Access. Aren't they clever!

With all the problems we have experienced in many different customer service aspects of dealing with vendors, I would like to mention something which worked out quite nicely for me today.

I tried to call CCH customer service to order two small booklets this morning, but there was some confusion about the exact title(s) (which I did not have) and who would handle the order (I got transferred 3 times). Since that was not working out, I went ahead and visited their site. There I was able to browse through the products until I was able to properly identify what I was looking for, and then I was able to order online without having to call back. I have to admit the web experience was more pleasurable, done with less stress and at my own pace.

So, to CCH and all other publishers who are making their product catalogs available for browsing and ordering through the internet, I would like to say thank you.

thanks
