Subject: Guido Olivera

I thought those who knew Guido would want to know that he passed away a
few days ago.

A memorial service for Guido will be held at 4 p.m., Sunday, October 25,
1998, in the Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Chapel, 3125 N. Lamar. In lieu of
flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to
The Foundation for the Homeless, P. O. Box 1862, Austin, Texas 78767.

To refresh your memory about Guido's life, I am noting below the
information from his obituary:

Guido F. Olivera passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 1998. He was born
in Matanzas, Cuba, on September 15, 1914. Guido practiced law in Havana,
Cuba, for 20 years before moving to the United States in 1960. He was the
Foreign and International Law Librarian at the Tarlton Law Library from
1967 until his retirement in 1984, after 17 years of service. He was
active in the American association of Law Libraries and one of the Index
Editors to the Index of Foreign Legal Periodicals.

Survivors include his wife, Angela; sons, Otto, of Austin, and Guy, of
Everett, Washington; brother, Otto H., of New Orleans; cousin, Margarita
Jimenez, of New york; and several nieces and nephews.

Guido was a true gentleman of the old world, devoted to his family and
friends.

If you want to send a note to Angela, Otto and Guy, the home address
is: 1109 Chesapeake, Austin 78758.
