1999 CALI CONFERENCE - CORRECT DATES=JUNE 17-19, 1999

From: CALI MAIL (calimail@kentlaw.edu)
Date: Wed Oct 21 1998 - 09:41:00 PDT

Gaaaack, how embarrassing. I put the wrong dates on that last email about
next year's CALI Conference. The correct information is:

***** 1999 CONFERENCE FOR LAW SCHOOL COMPUTING ******

Theme "***under construction***" (The theme is not "under construction", I
mean that I don't know what the theme is yet).

Where: University of Oregon School of Law, Eugene, OR
When: Thursday - Saturday, June 17-19, 1999
Sponsors: CALI and the University of Oregon School of Law Knight Law
Center

NEW CONFERENCE LOCATION
That's right, next year's conference will be at a NEW LOCATION from
previous years. Many conference attendees have expressed their desire to
visit someplace new. Well, construction is underway of the Knight Law
Center at the University of Oregon School of Law. There are some awesome
digital renderings and even a Virtual Walk Through at www.law.uoregon.edu.
The new law school will be state-of-the-art and the Conference will be one
of the first events held there.

We have already made arrangements for hotel rooms at the Eugene Hilton at
www.hilton.com/hotels/EUGEHHF/index.html, but don't call them just yet to
make reservations. After November 1, we should have everything set to go.
We are looking into airfare discounts as well. Visit the CALI website for
up-to-date info. CALL FOR SPEAKERS
If you are interested in presenting at the 1999 Conference, let me know. I
will be sending out a more detailed "Call For Speakers" in a couple more
weeks, but your ideas, suggestions are more than welcome.

MANY, MANY THANKS TO CHICAGO-KENT
Chicago-Kent has been the gracious and able host to the conference since
its inception in 1991. I can't say enough about the facility and people.
We are looking into working with Chicago-Kent to co-sponsor a workshop more
deeply focused on cutting edge technologies involving legal education, so
we may be enticing you to Chicago sometime next year anyway. This isn't a
permanent move to Oregon, it is quite likely that the conference will
return to Chicago someday. I have already heard from several schools
willing to sponsor the conference in 2000. If others are interested, let
me know.

Regards,
